Chihiros Doctor bluetooth not doing anything

I received my doctor (bluetooth) this week and set everything up but am not sure if it is working. I have a normal doctor that I can see it working at different times because the reactor will start producing bubbles in the tank. I have been watching this bluetooth one that I received and the only time I can get it to do anything is if I unplug it and plug it back in. I understand that it states it will go off at random times, but I watched my tank for almost an hour and it did nothing. My regular doctor is set for 500-700l and it goes off multiple times in an hour period.

Are the 2 doctor placed in one same tank?
You can put the reactor mesh in a cup of water to test if it work properly.

They are and I have placed it in a cup as you suggested and it doesn't ever run unless I unplug it and plug it back in. I took it to my local fish store which is where I bought my first doctor from (non-bluetooth) and they said all of my settings were correct. They said it should work, but it isn't. Is there anyway that I can exchange it for a manual (non-bluetooth) one? My order number was #11767. I would just rather have a manual one that I understand how to use. It seems that the documentation for the bluetooth one and general availability of information about it online is lacking.

Do you use Iphone or Android mobile phone?

I am using an iPhone. I purchased another Chihiros Doctor from my local fish store today to see if it was something with the unit that was shipped to me. I have the same results with the one I purchased today. The doctor never seems to engage the reactor. I will be returning this unit for a manual doctor tomorrow.

It's the phone issue, you can use an Android phone.
There is an issue with the name of a batch of doctors' devices, which will cause some versions of iphone data to fail to be sent.

Unfortunately I can't use an Android phone. Everything in our house is Apple products

Does this mean that I can't exchange the bluetooth model for a normal one? Buying an Android phone/device to use this doesn't make sense.
