WRGB Universal 1200 dimming in visible steps in Customize mode and Automation

Hi everyone,

I am using a Chihiros WRGB Universal 1200 and I have noticed something that does not seem quite right.

The light is permanently connected to power, so it is not being switched by a smart plug or external timer.
I am running it in Customize mode, with a ramp-up of almost 2 hours and a ramp-down of almost 2 hours.

The issue is that the light does not always dim smoothly.
Instead, the brightness often changes in clearly visible steps, and the effect is noticeable enough that it almost looks like flickering/step up/step down.

The firmware is already up to date.

So I wanted to ask:

  • Is this normal behavior for the WRGB Universal 1200 in Customize mode or for sunrise/sunset?
  • Has anyone else experienced this kind of stepped dimming?
  • Could this be related to the controller, the app, or the light itself?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi again,
I got a pretty obvious step on a video. It Occurs around the 30 second timestamp in the video. It is just freshly recorded from some minutes ago. This occurs quite often. Like there is no ramp, but a a stepping function - or to stay technical - a too coarse discretization of the lighting intensity values.

PS
I had to zip the video do upload it here.

Okay, thank you very much. Just to clarify I made a diagram.

Screenshot 2026-03-31 062838.pngOn x-axis there is the time, on y-axis there is luminous intensity. You see an example of what I see with my lamp (blue curve) vs. what I was expecting to see (red curve).

Do you confirm that this is normal behaviour? I want to make sure it's not a defect.
