I have a 90 gallon (48"(122cm)x18" (46cm)x 24" (61cm)) tank that has been planted and running for approx 7 months.

I just purchased a WRGB II Pro and was looking for suggestion on light levels to use.

Tank is currently low tech and heavily planted with variety of stems, epiphytes and floating plants.

From what I have seen on here the suggestion is typically start with 30% for a newly planted tank and work up from there. Seeing as my tank is already established, should I try one of the pre-sets like Buce?

I will be adding CO2 in the coming weeks as well.

thank you

WRGB II Pro light is suitable for a high tech densely planted tank.

Since your tank is already well-established and heavily planted, but still low tech (no CO2 yet), it’s wise to start with moderate intensity to avoid triggering algae while your plants adapt to the new light.

Suggested initial settings (Low tech, no CO2):
Overall brightness: Start at 30–35%
Settings: Red 40%, Green 35%, Blue 40%, White 30%
Photoperiod: 6–7h per day, no more than 8h, sunrise/set 30min
This gives your plants time to adjust and keeps algae in check. Avoid jumping to high light levels too quickly.

Once you add CO2:
After CO2 is stable, you can gradually increase light intensity over 1–2 weeks.
Consider trying one of the preset modes like “Red” or “Green”, etc, or build your own:
Settings: 50–60% overall brightness to start with CO2
Photoperiod: 7–8h per day, sunrise/set 30min/1h
Fine-tune depending on plant response and algae presence.

Thanks!

So I would set the light to those RGBW values and then slowly increase? I didn't see that the app had a place to adjust the overall intensity, only the RGBW.

Does the photoperiod include the sunrise/set time?

Yes start from initial settings.
You can just set the WRGB, overall brightness is the total of WRGB.
Include.
