Vivid 3 settings

Hello Chihiros Team,

I recently purchased the Vivid 3 for my 75×45×45 cm aquascaping tank, which is densely planted. I would like to ask for your professional advice on how to correctly set all the light parameters (intensity, spectrum, and photoperiod) to ensure healthy plant growth and minimize algae problems. Could you also please suggest the ideal mounting height above the tank for optimal performance?

Lastly, since my aquarium is placed next to a TV, I’d like to know if the Vivid 3 disperses much light to the sides and if it could cause visual disturbance during normal viewing. Thank you very much for your help and for your excellent products!

Light intensity
If it’s a newly planted tank, use 20%-30% brightness.
Add 5% brightness 1-2 weeks for growth.
When it’s mature, use the preset mode, Red, Green, Buce…Choose the one you like the most and adjust it slightly like by +-5%.

Photoperiod
6-8h

Mounting height
15-30cm from light to water surface.

Shades
Chihiros WRGB VIVID 3 Shades with Mirror

There are only shades for the front and back sides of the light.
Not sure if it could disturb you from both left and right sides.
