Hello! Before 34 days we bought Chihiros Universal WRGB 1000 for our Juwel Rio 180l. Everything was fine unil today, when we noticed something strange. We saw it now, because we do not turn the white channel normally, we run only red, blue and green. Today we bought a few carpet plants that require white light and we were stunned to see that the white lids on the right side of the lamp are completely off, and it does not matter of we turn the % to 100, or to 50%, they stayed off on the right side. We run 8/14 hour cycle, with 8 hours being on. Other colors work perfectly fine. We tried unplugging it, disconnecting it , nothing seems to work. It does not look like a software problem, so my guess is it is broken? I am attaching pictures. Thank you im advance!

PS: The light is not underwater, nor have any contact with it. There is at least 10cm between the water level and the light. The pictures are mirrored, as this way it is more visible.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Appreciated.

Told already the store people what the problem is when I was there beginning of this week. Bought something else. They felt sorry but said hearing of this for the first time. Their stock of lamps is actually empty. There is obviously a new-lamp-container arriving in Europe in May. Now idea what is right and what is wrong.

What do I have to tell them in detail when going there next week? Is there any more precise informationen available regarding the mentioned improvement? If they would be aware of this they would have told me already. They are probably not informed although they should be. Any Chihirios dealer info letter available where this is explained? The box the lamp was in indeed looked some days older.

Kind regards,
Joachim

This Univeral WRGB model is only sold in Europe by Germany distributor AS Aquaristik.
You can confirm.

So, the third WRGB 1500 is also faulty. Again the white LEDs. It starts getting bothering. I cannot do more than installing it (non-cover/open tank), adjusting the LEDs to what I like and then start the AUTO-Mode. LEDs are running at around 20-25 %. Enough for my application. I actually don't know if I want to keep on trying with Chihiro or if I should switch to another brand. Can't become more worse, I would say. Recently bought a second fish tank I need a lamp for. Most probably it will not be Chihiros again. It's simply not reliable eneough.

What I'm asking to provide is the following information:
1.) From which batch on the white LEDs have really been improved?
2.) Can a lamp be identified? For example by a batch or serial number?

Momentarily I'm not believing that the white LEDs have really been improved. There is still something wrong with them why the product itself is not as intended.

Kind regards,
Joachim (from Germany)

You can confirm with German distributor.

Not what I was expecting as noone should know better than the manufacturer instead of only a distributor. So, Chihiros Design Departement should be able to give an answer people can work with.

Thanks
